Falcon Structures Announces New Leadership for New Strategic Focus

The Pioneers of Modified Container Structures Welcome Experienced Vice President of Sales

Austin, TX—March 17, 2015—Falcon Structures, vanguard providers of modified containers for diverse industry applications, today announced the addition of Tori Smiley, Vice President of Sales. As an electrical engineer and sales management professional, Smiley brings both technical knowledge and complex sales expertise—particularly in the energy, defense, and aerospace sectors.

“We’re thrilled to gain Tori’s leadership and on-point skillset,” says Stephen Shang, CEO and cofounder of Falcon Structures. “She’s joining the company at an exciting time. Having recently sold the rental arm of our business, we’re newly focused on our most successful and defining niche: industrial applications. We’ll rely on Tori to help us grow our reach and establish broader distribution channels. ”

After 12 years of modifying Corten steel shipping containers—to create mobile labs, IT rooms, workforce housing units, sensitive equipment storage, and other portable business assets—Falcon is now looking to productize its popular container structures. “We’re working to make shipping containers an integral part of the modular building industry,” Shang explains. In part, that means spreading the message about shipping containers’ many advantages over fabricated structures.

“As an engineer, creative problem solving is what I live for,” Smiley says in regard to her new role. “Falcon is a place where people are putting smarter, more efficient systems in place every day.  From the overarching business model to the structures themselves (which are brilliant), this team is testing the boundaries of what boxes can do. I feel very lucky to be a part of that.”

And from a sales perspective,” Smiley adds, “’smarter’ and ‘more efficient’ aren’t exactly hard qualities to sell.”

Smiley comes to Falcon with an engineering degree and more than 10 years of sales management experience. In past roles, she is credited with developing a customer-centric approach to effectively further sales objectives.
