General Description of Position

Falcon Structures is seeking a positive and enthusiastic controller with experience in the manufacturing industry to lead the accounting team. They will work closely with leadership to help us continue our rapid growth trajectory in the modular construction market.

The controller will be responsible for all accounting functions within the business while managing the accounts receivable specialist and accounts payable/payroll specialist. They’ll also work closely with the operations teams to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs.

Since 2003 Falcon Structures has pioneered shipping container-based structures. We are now a thought leader in our industry and one of the largest container-based manufacturers in the country.

The Controller will play a large part in Falcon’s transition to the Epicor Kinetic ERP system. With a fully capable manufacturing ERP system and a confident controller to manage the financials, Falcon will be able to scale its operations to become the nation’s preeminent supplier of shipping container-based structures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting department activities for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, reports to lenders, audits, and annual budgets
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the company's leadership team
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, data, and enhance the company's value
  • Ensure timely and accurate month and year end close processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate collection and payment of all taxes
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for the company executives and board of directors
  • Establish and maintain cash controls and reconciliation of bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger
  • Supervise the activities of the accounts payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, and cash control
  • Supervise the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings and cash receipts application, which includes weekly funding reports and customer service
  • Supervise the activities of the payroll processing function
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs
  • Support preparation of monthly forecasts and annual operating plan
  • Understand and document ERP systems and reporting conventions

Skills & Qualifications

  • BS or BA Degree in Accounting, Finance
  • Deep experience with a manufacturing ERP system is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and cost accounting
  • High ethical standards; responsible, dependable, trustworthy, and thorough
  • Exceptional organizational skills; detail-oriented and analytically driven
  • Good interpersonal skills; high level of emotional intelligence and adaptability
  • Constructive problem solver; willing to roll up sleeves without layering in overhead
  • Clear communicator and effective leader
