No More "Nickel and Diming;" Jordan Foster's Container Workspace Investment

Container Workspace for Airport Construction Site

Jordan Foster Construction, a leading name in the construction industry, is known for its commitment to excellence and rigorous safety standards. When tasked with setting up a workspace near an El Paso, Texas airport construction site, they faced a recurring issue: exorbitant rental fees for outdated work trailers. Frustrated by being nickel and dimed with escalating maintenance costs and lease renewals, Jordan Foster Construction sought a smarter investment—one that would prioritize functionality, worker well-being, and financial efficiency.

Key Challenges

Frustrating Rental & Maintenance Fees on Work Trailers

For their airport construction site, Jordan Foster Construction needed a reliable and portable office solution that could be easily relocated once the project wrapped up. Renting traditional work trailers was becoming downright frustrating. Costs were spiraling out of control, with hidden maintenance fees and excessive lease payments adding to the financial burden. Additionally, the trailers wore down quickly from frequent relocation. Tired of overpaying for short-term fixes, Jordan Foster’s leadership realized the need for a long-term solution that could withstand the harsh El Paso climate, reduce expenses, and improve jobsite conditions.

Low-Maintenance, Sustainable Container Office

Jordan Foster Construction turned to durable, modified shipping containers for their onsite office needs. Unlike traditional trailers, these container offices provide superior durability, with spray foam insulation on all six sides to combat the extreme temperature swings of the West Texas desert. In summer 2024, when temperatures soared above 100°F for weeks, the containers’ thermal efficiency performed impressively, shifting only 10°F despite a 50°F change outside, even before power was connected.

The container offices also made relocation easier. Thanks to built-in container pockets, Jordan Foster can use their own equipment to move the offices to new sites, eliminating the need for third-party transport. Beyond practicality, the containers were customized to prioritize worker well-being. Grouped together under a shared sunshade, the setup includes a shaded picnic area and an ice machine where workers can cool off and take much-needed breaks. This thoughtful design reduces heat-related risks and prioritizes worker well-being.
