About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven Materials Supervisor to ensure that the container modification process runs smoothly. You will support as many as 15-20 simultaneous manufacturing jobs by ensuring job start dates are scheduled when enough materials are available to begin production without downstream interruptions. You will lead a team that delivers materials to the jobs as they are needed. You’ll keep track of how much material is used in manufacturing, adjust minimum and maximum stock levels, conduct periodic inventories, support job launch meetings, participate in weekly production review meetings, receive inbound materials in our ERP system (prior ERP experience is a must), inspect inbound materials and return defective material, and coordinate with operations and logistics to help the company deliver on its promises.
Duties & Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Supervise daily operations of the materials/warehouse department, including receiving, inventory control, and internal distribution. Supervise and mentor a team of material handler/warehouse staff.
- Collaborate with purchasing, production, and material/warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Implement and maintain inventory management systems and best practices.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Generate and analyze reports on inventory accuracy, material movement, and departmental performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost savings, and waste reduction.
- Maintains the warehouse’s physical condition: 1) general cleanliness and 2) organization, layout and design in a way that will ensure maximum space utilization and protection of materials.

Skills & Abilities
- 3+ years of experience in materials or warehouse supervision, preferably in a construction or production environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with inventory software or WMS a plus.
- Lives in the greater Austin area and can work on-site every day, including weekends as needed.
