General Description of Position

Falcon Structures is seeking a Painter to work in our growing manufacturing facility modifying repurposed shipping containers. What's good about working at Falcon? There is steady work no matter what the weather is, you come to the same facility each day, and we provide your tools. You will work with a diverse group of individuals and get to work on interesting projects!

Hours are M-F 7:00 am - 3:45 pm, overtime is likely

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares surfaces by scraping, using commercial paint removers and filling cracks and holes.
  • Erects scaffold, ladders and safety barriers in line with local mechanical “safe work procedures.”
  • Places drop cloths to protect equipment and to cover floors.
  • Observes machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects of deviations from standards and adjusts as necessary.
  • Disassembles, cleans, and reassembles sprayers and power equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties.
  • Performs interior and exterior painting, including finishing where required.
  • Reviews shop drawings
  • Maintains shop equipment.
  • Follows Falcon Structures’ policies and procedures, health and safety standards and complies with appropriate building codes.
  • Takes safety classes.
  • Charges to correct projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Good craftsman, able to perform quality finish work.
  • Knows how to read shop drawings.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Uses critical thinking and can troubleshoot.
  • Must be safety conscience.
  • Has a learning mindset.
  • Flexible, friendly, able to collaborate with and coach others, and work on a team.
  • Ability to use critical thinking in order to learn troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements

  • Sight in order to be aware of hazards and dangers.
  • Able to wear a respirator.
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
  • Dexterity of hands to perform tasks required of position.
  • Must be able to read and write English in order to review project plans.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable at different heights
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility.
  • Able to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
