Custom Shipping Containers

Make Your Shipping Container Building Unique to You
There’s more than one way to order a modified shipping container, and with Falcon Structures, you have options. If one of our customizable pre-designed floor plans or quick-ship options isn’t quite what you need, you can design a completely custom container to fit your vision. And if you dream of a larger, more complex structure, our containers can serve as the building blocks to make it happen.

We’ll guide you through two different paths: Prototyping and Design Build.

Custom Project Process

Two Primary Paths

Path A: Prototyping

This is the most common fully customized path our customers take, and it’s an ideal option for creating one container with your specifications and scaling that design — essentially making copies — as needed.

Why make a prototype instead of ordering a bunch of containers with the design right away? Because prototyping gives you the opportunity to test the design with equipment or in the field to ensure it meets all of your requirements. This process also allows for discovering improved design features and finding efficiencies in manufacturing that will save time and money on future production runs.

Step 1: A Blank Slate

Begin with an empty shipping container — a blank slate to customize a new design that will match your specifications from the ground up.

Step 2: Customize

Customize the container to fit the requirements of your project. Select the size and adjust its contents and characteristics — including windows, exterior stairs, climate control, and more — while working with our expert design team for guidance. If you’ve already been collaborating with a designer or architect, we welcome their input, so bring them aboard!

Step 3: Building the Prototype

Once the design is settled and drawn up, we’ll bring it to life so you can see what this looks like in reality.

Step 4: Order As Many As You Need

Our team will use this prototype as the blueprint for the modular construction of all the units you’ll require, and the prototype plans will remain in place to build even more structures in the future.

Step 5: Modular Construction

Construction of your fully customized container structures will occur at our state-of-the-art facilities so your work site isn’t disrupted.

Step 6: Delivery

After construction is complete, we’ll deliver the containers to your site on a schedule that works for you.

Path B: Design Build

If you’d like to utilize multiple containers as part of a larger building, we’ll work with you to make it happen.

Step 1: Bring Falcon Aboard Your Vision

Modified shipping containers can be used as components for larger, more complex structures. The modular aspect means these components can be modified off site and later delivered to the final construction location. We'll come on board as the container consultant and manufacturer to collaborate with the team of architects, designers, structural engineers, and general contractors.

Step 2: Draw Up the Plans

We'll come on board as the container consultant and manufacturer to collaborate with the team of architects, designers, structural engineers, and general contractors.

Step 3: Modular Construction

Our skilled technicians will construct your containers here at Falcon’s facilities so your job site isn’t disrupted.

Step 4: Delivery

After modifications of the containers are complete, we’ll deliver to the site and place where needed.

Things to Consider

When thinking about the right customized shipping container structure, be sure to ask yourself a few important questions, such as:

  • Will customized shipping containers give me exactly what I need?
  • Will I really need a customized container, or will one of Falcon’s pre-designed options work?
  • How many containers will I need?
  • Do I have the budget for full customization?
  • Will custom container structures be finished and delivered by the time I need them?
  • Will containers truly fit with the rest of the project?

We can help you answer these questions and provide realistic budget and timeline answers, among others, when having a conversation.
