Falcon Structures Earns Honorable Mention at World of Modular Awards of Distinction

WOM Award SERV

Austin TX, May 13, 2024 –

Falcon Structures, a modified shipping container manufacturer, earned honorable mention in the Permanent Modular Retail category at the Modular Building Institute’s (MBI) World of Modular conference in March of this year.

The award-winning project is for SERV, a food and pickleball venue in Overland Park, Kansas. The venue is composed of 19 modified shipping containers, including seven that were modified into fully functioning commercial kitchens. Two 40-foot containers include full plumbing to create women’s, men’s, and family restrooms. A walk-up bar container is a focal point of the park, with a large 16’x3’ service window opening and two empty containers stacked on top to act as a projection screen for outdoor watch parties. An empty 40’ container stands upright at the entrance of the park and serves as a landmark in the urban area with its prominent signage.

“We’re proud to see SERV get this recognition in the modular industry,” said Stephen Shang, Falcon Structures CEO and Co-Founder. “Our team learned a great deal during this project, but ultimately our library of customizable floor plans and our streamlined manufacturing environment were the biggest contributors to our success.”

This is Falcon Structures’ eighth award from the MBI Awards of Distinction.
