Mobile Car Garages: A New Piece of Equipment for Black Swan Racing

Black Swan Racing is a ProAm (professional-amateur) car racing team competing in the Intercontinental GT Challenge, a four race championship that will take them and their vehicles across the globe. They’ll push their cars and their team to the limit with endurance races, including a race in Spa, Belgium that will last 24 hours. As the team travels the world, their iconic car, a beautiful green Porsche 911 GT3R, has to come with them. Many racing teams use a plain, tried and true shipping container to transport their vehicles overseas. But Black Swan Racing saw the opportunity for a shipping container to be something more: a mobile garage worthy of the high-performance vehicles it would carry.

The 317 Shipping Containers Along Energy Transfer’s Pipelines

Imagine thousands of miles of pipeline carrying crude oil from the prairies of the Dakotas to the wetlands of Louisiana. Dotted alongside the pipeline are unmanned monitoring stations called remote terminal units (RTUs). RTUs often go months without attention, but when they do need to be serviced, snow and ice pose a serious challenge. If the RTU has a minimal bus-stop style shelter, the technician will sometimes have to dig the instrumentation out of the snow and chisel off a layer of ice.

Containerizing Audio Equipment Shelters for University of Texas at Austin

It was crunch time for Big House Sound (BHS), a company that installs high-end sound systems for large events. University of Texas at Austin (UT) was upgrading the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium for the new football season. After a competitive bidding process, UT selected Big House Sound to create a world-class sound system that could reach every fan in the 430,118 square-foot stadium. It was all going according to plan until a vendor hit a rut: the enclosures for BHS’ amplifiers were not going to be ready in time. As an Austin-based company, Falcon is made of many UT alumni, including our co-owners, and avid Longhorn fans. We were more than ready to help keep the upcoming football season on schedule.
