The 5 Coolest Projects We've Done This Year
Marissa Morin | Dec 14, 2022
2022 was an important year for Falcon; we expanded our facility—doubling its size—received a first-place award from the Modular Building Institute and earned another state manufacturing certification. On top of it all, we partnered with some great customers to create some awesome projects. As the year comes to a close, let’s look back on a few of the coolest projects we completed in 2022.
The Pitch
This local Austin hang-out and venue is called The Pitch. It was completed at the beginning of 2022 and made entirely from modified shipping containers. The space includes indoor and outdoor seating in an exciting atmosphere with various food and drink options. If you visit on any given day, you’ll notice people playing sand volleyball or pickleball and others watching an Austin FC soccer game.
EWX Solar Solutions
When companies and communities need power, EWX Solar Solutions uses Falcon containers to create a portable power solution. Inside each modified container, EWX provides a state-of-the-art solar and generator solution with enough power to often replace entire grids—all from a 20-foot box.
Square Roots
Square Roots opened its Kenosha, Wisconsin indoor farm this year. The structure is built using twenty modified shipping containers that act as grow zones for herbs and leafy greens. The entire facility has the capacity to produce more than 2.4 million packages of herbs grown using 95% less water than conventional farming. Square Roots is truly revolutionizing its industry.
Lyft
The Philadelphia Lyft office didn’t have enough space to accommodate waiting customers. Instead, customers waited outside, even when the weather wasn’t great. The Lyft staff chose to use a Falcon container to provide a comfortable waiting room with air conditioning and branded material. Now customer visits start off on the right foot.
OBI Seafoods
The largest seafood operation in Alaska is run by OBI Seafoods with a century of experience. The OBI team wanted to boost employee morale and create a more durable workforce housing solution, so they turned to Falcon. Fourteen 40-foot containers sit stacked across the facility, creating coveted living accommodations.
